Erie SeaWolves News Release

ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the ‘Wolves will take the field in doubleheader action against the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) at Jerry Uht Park. It is the second doubleheader between the ‘Wolves and B-Mets. Binghamton swept a doubleheader from the ‘Wolves on May 17 at NYSEG Stadium. Last night's nine-run defeat at the hands of the Mets was the second time this season Erie fell by nine runs (season-high for a losing margin). The 12 runs allowed was also the most given up by the ‘Wolves since allowing 18 runs on April 11 against the Mets at "The Uht"...In four games against Binghamton at home, the B-Mets have outscored the ‘Wolves 48-36. The ‘Wolves need to win the final four games of the series to avoid a losing record against the Mets in 2008...Righty Josh Rainwater takes the mound for the ‘Wolves in game one, making his 16th start, 15th appearance and second start against the Mets. He took a no-decision against Binghamton on June 18. In the game, Rainwater left trailing but the ‘Wolves battled back for their first of two comeback wins this season (when trailing after six). In his last start against Akron, Rainwater went 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on 12 hits with two walks and three strikeouts in a no-decision...Lefty Juan Cedeno will get the spot start for the ‘Wolves in game two. Cedeno is making his third start of the season and his 27th appearance. In his last outing against Akron, Cedeno tossed two scoreless innings in relief on July 18...The Mets counter with RHP Bobby Parnell in game one and RHP Jose Sanchez in game two. Parnell is 0-1 with a 9.31 ERA in two starts against the ‘Wolves while Sanchez is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances, one start against Erie.
