Jonathan Malo and Jose Coronado each had three hits for the Binghamton Mets, helping them win Game 2 of their doubleheader over the Erie SeaWolves 11-4 at Jerry Uht Park Tuesday. Erie won the opener 8-2.

In the nightcap, the B-Mets (54-49) got on the board in the first, thanks to three straight hits off Juan Cedeño. Coronado started the attack with a double before Daniel Murphy and Ambiorix Concepcion singled, the latter scoring Coronado.

Binghamton upped the lead to 3-0 in the second. Malo reached on a infield single and, two batters later, scored on Salvador Paniagua's double off the leftfield wall. Paniagua came in on Coronado's second double of the game.

Erie (43-61) rallied to tie against Jose Sanchez. Jeff Kunkel and Will Rhymes each singled in a run in the second before Ryan Roberson's third-inning solo shot knotted the score 3-3.

Malo led off the B-Mets' half of the fourth with a double before scoring on Fernando Martinez's two-out single to center, putting Binghamton ahead for good. Coronado followed with a single before Murphy's base hit plated Martinez. Cedeño (3-2) walked Concepcion to load the bases before hitting Mike Carp with a pitch. That forced in Coronado and put the B-Mets ahead 6-3.

Binghamton put the game away in the sixth. Malo hit a bases-loaded, two-run double before Garcia cranked a three-run homer to rightfield. Kunkel's RBI groundout off Sanchez (9-5) in the sixth capped the scoring.

In the opener, Erie scored four times off Bobby Parnell (9-5) in the first, with Pedro Cotto driving in two with a double. After Concepcion doubled off Josh Rainwater (7-4) and was singled in by Garcia in the second to cut Erie's lead to 4-1, the SeaWolves put the game away with three in the third. Casper Wells singled in one before a Rhymes single plated two more for a 7-1 Erie lead.

Carp singled and scored on a pair of errors in the fourth before Roberson's solo homer in the bottom of the frame concluded the scoring.

Wednesday, the Binghamton Mets play the fourth game of their five-game series against the Erie SeaWolves. Lefty Jonathon Niese (5-7, 3.22) starts for Binghamton against Lauren Gagnier (1-1, 12.15) of Erie. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Jerry Uht Park with the radio broadcast beginning at 6:50 on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
