ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox). The 'Wolves were shut out for the third time in the last five games on Tuesday night 1-0. The games lone run came in the bottom of the fifth against Erie starter Duane Below. The loss dropped the SeaWolves to a season-worst 11-games under .500. Since taking over first place in the Western Division on May 19, the SeaWolves have gone on to lose 21 of their last 24 games...The 'Wolves are on their third eight-game losing streak of the season...Erie has lost the season series to the Sea Dogs for the first time since Portland became a Red Sox affiliate (2003)...Lefty Jon Kibler was transferred to Class-A Lakeland. Ramon Garcia will make a spot start in Kibler's spot in the rotation on Friday in New Hampshire...Righty Thad Weber takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his 13th start. Weber took a loss in his last start against the Sea Dogs despite tossing eight innings, allowing an unearned run on seven hits. Weber has held opponents to three earned runs or fewer in his last four starts...Righty Alex Wilson makes his Double-A debut for the Sea Dogs. Wilson began the season with Class-A Salem and was 2-1 with a 3.40 ERA.

- Portland has won the season series against Erie 4-0. The SeaWolves and Sea Dogs meet six times in 2010." Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed 68 errors on the season, the most in the league." The SeaWolves are sixth in the league with a 4.12 team ERA. Portland is seventh with a 4.26 team ERA." The SeaWolves are last in the league with a .237 team batting average. Portland is sixth in the league with a .258 team average." Erie has connected on 63 home runs which is second-most in the EL. New Hampshire leads the league with 67 long balls." The SeaWolves are third in the EL with 63 stolen bases. - The 'Wolves are 14-19 on the road." Andy Dirks leads all league outfielders with 14 assists." The 'Wolves have gone 0-5-2 in their last seven series. - Erie is 1-11 in June. - The SeaWolves have struggled against the Eastern Division. Erie has lost 20 of the 24 games played against opponents from the East." Rob Waite was transferred to Erie from Lakeland. Waite appeared in 14 games, all in relief, and was 1-0 with an 0.73 ERA (2 ER/24.2 IP) with five walks and 23 strikeouts. - Ron Bourquin was transferred to Erie from West Michigan. In 11 games with the Whitecaps. Bourquin was hitting .237 with three doubles and three RBI.
