ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves go for their third consecutive series win as they take the field in the rubber game of a three-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) at Hadlock Field. Tonight is the final meeting between these two clubs in 2009. A win for the ‘Wolves will also give them a season series win over the Sea Dogs...Last night's 11-5 win over Portland snapped Erie's longest road losing streak of the season at four games. Erie's 12 road wins is tied for second-fewest in the league this season. Erie has gone 5-8 in its last 13 road games...Erie currently sits in third place in the EL South. With Akron's doubleheader sweep on Wednesday, Erie is now seven games out of first. Reading fell to Bowie on Wednesday and Erie is now one game out of second place in the division...After beginning the season with 56 consecutive games against Southern Division opponents, the ‘Wolves are in a stretch of 12 straight against the EL North...Portland's Jorge Jimenez has homered in back-to-back games and is hitting .450 (9x20) in five games against Erie. Portland pitchers have held Erie to a .205 team batting average in the season series (.064 lower than Erie's team average for the season)...Righty Pat Stanley looks for his first Erie win as he takes the mound in the series finale making his fifth start and first against the Sea Dogs. Stanley has given up 13 runs, 11 earned, over his last two starts and is 0-2 in his last two. He has also yielded five home runs in his last two games...Last night's game was the longest nine inning game for the SeaWolves in 2009 at 3:33...Erie is 5-3 against the EL North. The ‘Wolves play 41 games against the North this season.
