BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox will welcome Nickelodeon's Dora The Explorer to Prince George's Stadium on Saturday, July 11, as the team takes on the Altoona Curve at 7:05 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the costumed character will greet fans and pose for photos throughout the night. After the game, the Baysox will light up the skies around the stadium with a fireworks extravaganza presented by Strike Out Cancer Now.

Currently the number one preschool show on commercial television, "Dora the Explorer" is a play-along, animated adventure series starring Dora, a seven-year-old Latina heroine whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests. Dora explores her world just as preschoolers do everyday, and the show actively engages its audience in an interactive quest using a variety of learning techniques.

The show airs on Nick Jr. Monday - Friday at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. "I can't wait to see Dora at the Baysox game," said four-year-old Julianne Fewer. "I love watching her on TV."

Nickelodeon's "Dora the Explorer" was created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh and Eric Weiner. Gifford serves as executive producer, with Walsh as co-executive producer and Weiner as producer and head writer.

The Baysox 17th season as the class AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles is underway! Check out www.baysox.com to see all that's going on at the stadium this year, and don't miss a moment of the action as the Baysox attempt to bring home their first Eastern League championship.
