Tonight, the SeaWolves look for the series split as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the final game of a four-game series at People's Natural Gas Field. Last night, Altoona swept its second doubleheader against the SeaWolves. In the first game, the Curve put up 18 runs and beat the 'Wolves 18-7. In game two, the SeaWolves held a 7-1 lead in the last of the seventh inning but Matt Crouse and Melvin Mercedes combined to allow seven runs as Altoona beat Erie 8-7. It was the second time this season Altoona walked off on the SeaWolves... Righty Derek Hankins makes his 18th start of the season, 14th with the SeaWolves and first against Altoona. Hankins earned his second straight win in his last start against Akron on July 17. In the game, he allowed two runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings of work. Erie won the game 4-3... RHP Chad Kuhl takes the mound for Altoona making his 19th start and fourth against the SeaWolves. Kuhl is 1-1 with a no-decision in his previous three starts against the 'Wolves. Kuhl took a loss in his last start against Richmond on July 17. In the game, he allowed a pair of unearned runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. Kuhl has not allowed an earned run in his last three starts.
