Tonight, the SeaWolves begin a four-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at People's Natural Gas Field. Yesterday, Erie surrendered a game-tying home run in the eighth and a walkoff home run in the ninth as they failed to extend their winning streak to four straight with a 4-3 loss to the Akron RubberDucks...The SeaWolves have struggled against the Curve this season, dropping nine of the 10 meetings in the season series...Righty Tommy Collier takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 13th start of the season, sixth with the SeaWolves and second against the Curve. Collier beat Altoona on June 6 allowing two runs on four hits with four walks and seven strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work. Collier took a no-decision in his last start against New Hampshire on June 17. In the game, he allowed a run on five hits with no walks and six strikeouts while equaling a season-high eight innings pitched. Erie won the game 6-3 in 13 innings...Righty Chad Kuhl takes the mound for the Curve making his 14th start and third against the SeaWolves. Kuhl is 1-1 in his previous two starts against Erie. He earned a win in his last start against Akron firing seven shutout innings, allowing four hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
