Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators are pleased to announce that SS Trea Turner has been selected to represent the Washington Nationals at the 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. Turner is the 12th Senator to play in the Futures Game since the game's inception in 1999. He joins Peter Bergeron (1999); Brad Wilkerson (2000); Josh Karp (2002); Brandon Phillips (2002), Seung Song (2002, 2003); Shawn Hill (2003); Saloman Manriquez (2006); Collin Balester (2007); Shairon Martis (2008); Danny Espinosa (2010) and Michael Taylor (2014) as players who have represented Harrisburg in the minor league exhibition game.

Turner has played in just 10 games with Harrisburg since being traded to the Nationals from San Diego as the player to be named later in a three-team trade from this past winter. Turner is hitting .359 with four doubles, a triple and four stolen bases in four tries with the Senators. He played his first 58 games of the season with San Diego's Double-A affiliate, San Antonio, hitting .322 with five homers, 35 RBI and 11 stolen bases. The 22-year-old Turner was the Padres 1st round selection last year (13th overall) and has hit .325 in 137 career professional games.

The 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will take place on Sunday, July 12th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. Turner will be joined there by fellow Nationals prospect, RHP Lucas Giolito, who is currently pitching for High-A Potomac.
