ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Today, the SeaWolves look to salvage a series split in the final game of a four game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark. The Curve used a two-out three-run seventh inning rally to down the 'Wolves 3-2 on Saturday. It marked the first Erie loss when leading after six innings in a game. Erie needs a win today to avoid dropping four straight series. The club won the opening series of the season with a four-game sweep over Bowie, however, they have fallen in three straight series (vs. HAR, BNG & BOW)...The SeaWolves and Curve will meet seven more times over the next two weeks including a four-game series on Thursday at Jerry Uht Park...Rightie Josh Rainwater takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his third start and fourth overall appearance. Rainwater has been one of the most consistent pitchers for the SeaWolves picking up wins in each of his first two appearances against Bowie and Harrisburg. He struggled in his most recent outing against Bowie, and despite taking the loss, allowed only one earned run. Rainwater has allowed just two earned runs in his first 11.0 innings pitched this season...RHP Derek Hankins takes the mound for the Curve. Hankins is making his fourth start of the season. He took a loss in his last start against Trenton. In the game, he allowed a pair of runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Hankins has gone at least five innings in each of his first three starts of the season.
