Tonight, the SeaWolves open up a four-game road trip at Canal Park against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians). The SeaWolves and Aeros split a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park prior to the All-Star break with the Aeros taking the first two and Erie taking the final two. Erie won seven of the last 10 games heading into the EL All-Star Break...Righty Anthony Shawler takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his 18th appearance and third start of the season. Shawler replaces Ramon Garcia in the Erie rotation. He was roughed up in his last outing in relief against the Aeros on July 9. In the game, he allowed four runs, two earned, on five hits with no walks and a strikeout in 2.2 innings of work. His last start was June 28 at Bowie...Lefty Kelvin De La Cruz takes the mound for the Aeros making his 13th start and second against the SeaWolves. He took a no-decision in his last start against Trenton on July 8. He allowed two runs on six hits with four walks and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work. He took a loss in his only start against the 'Wolves on May 10. That day he allowed two runs on five hits in six innings of work with a walk and a season-high seven strikeouts.
