Energy Announce Record December Attendance

January 7, 2013 - NBA G League (G League)
Iowa Wolves News Release

DES MOINES, IA, Jan 7, 2013- Through the first five games of the 2012-2013 NBA D-League season, the Iowa Energy's attendance is up 14.0% over the previous year in large part due to strong season ticket and walk-up sales during the month of December.

The Energy have experienced attendance growth each of the previous three seasons, with the 2011-2012 season being their biggest to date, at 4,407 fans per game.

"The increase this year has been phenomenal. Fans have responded to this franchise and it is a great thing for downtown Des Moines," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris. "On top of that, our fans have been treated to some incredible games this year."

"December is typically a slower month for us because of the holidays, but that hasn't been the case this year. Most of our biggest games will be in February, March and April, so to see the 14% growth year-to-date is extremely pleasing. The success we have had in our six seasons is great for us, but it is also good for the businesses of downtown Des Moines - and every company in the area that has employees looking for entertainment in our great city," added Makris.

The next Energy home game is Sunday, January 13th at 4pm. The first 1,000 fans get a free winter hat compliments of MidAmerican Energy. For tickets, call 564-8550, visit www.IowaNBA.com or stop by the arena box office.
