BAKERSFIELD, January 7, 2013 - The Bakersfield Jam (11-6) had five players score in double digits and defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (10-7) 103-88 in the third game of the NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, NV.

Bakersfield put together a strong first half against Sioux Falls and led 58-43 at intermission. In that first half, the Jam held the Skyforce to just 38% shooting while Bakersfield shot 47% from the field. The Jam maintained their 15 point lead in the second half and secured their third straight win. Bakersfield dominated the glass and the paint as they outrebounded Sioux Falls 57-38 and outscored them 52-32 in points in the paint.

For Bakersfield, Jerel McNeal scored 18 points, dished out five assists and grabbed five rebounds while Renaldo Major had 18 points and five rebounds. Shan Foster off the bench scored 18 points as well and for the second straight game made four 3-pointers. Damion James filled up the stat sheet as he posted 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Reserve guard Stephen Dennis finished with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Demetrius Nichols led the Skyforce with 22 points while Miami Heat assignee Dexter Pittman finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe Putt had 12 points and six assists and Mark Tyndale finished with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Bakersfield will stay in Reno, NV. and play their second game of the NBA D-League Showcase Wednesday, January 9 at 3:30 pm PT against the Maine Red Claws.
