Springfield Acquires Paul Carter

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, today announced that they have acquired forward Paul Carter and a fifth round pick in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft from the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for Shawn Taggart.
Carter (6-8, 200, Illinois-Chicago) has appeared in nine games this season with the Idaho Stampede, averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.3 minutes per game. Carter was traded from Idaho to Santa Cruz on Jan. 2 and had yet to appear in a game with the Warriors. During the 2011-12 season, Carter appeared in 34 games (21 starts) after joining the Stampede following a stint in the Utah Jazz's training camp. Carter averaged 10.8 points on .477 shooting, 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.4 minutes per game.
Taggart appeared in 13 games (five starts) with the Armor this season after being selected in the fifth round (78th overall) in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft. He held averages of 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game.
Carter, 25, will join Springfield today and will be available tonight when the Armor take on the Reno Bighorns at the NBA D-League Showcase. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
