RENO, NEV., Jan. 7, 2013 - After going back-and-forth for three quarters, The Texas Legends overpowered the Idaho Stampede in the fourth quarter, to cap off a 104-84 victory in the second game of the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, Nevada.

Darius Rice, a 6'10 forward from Miami, who made the Legends roster through a local tryout before the season has started in all 16 games for Texas and registered a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. While he is here in the NBA D-League to work on different aspects of his game, he came out of the gate and provided a boost to the Stampede, owners of a 4-12 record coming into the Showcase. He recorded 16 points in the first-half and finished with a game-high 28 points on 13-of-26 shooting from the floor.
Both teams were locked in a see-saw battle and Idaho was clinging to a 68-65 lead entering the fourth quarter. With 4:07 remaining in the fourth quarter, Chris Roberts hit a jumper to give Texas an 88-77 lead, completing a 10-1 run keyed by Sean Singletary and back-to-back timely buckets by George Odufuwa. Texas continued with their monster four quarter, outscoring Idaho 39-16.
Texas (11-6) will return to the floor in the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase finale on Thursday against the Erie BayHawks. Idaho (4-13) will look to rebound tomorrow when they take on the Canton Charge.
