The Mad Ants led for a total of 20 seconds in the first half as the Armor's sharp-shooting from beyond the arc propelled Springfield to an early lead. Adonis Thomas connected on all three of his three-point attempts for a game-high 15 points before the break, while Khalif Wyatt hit 5-of-6 shots from the field to help the visitors to a 55-49 edge at halftime.

Fort Wayne's Trey McKinney-Jones also hit five of his first six shots for 13 points heading into the locker room to keep the Mad Ants within striking distance. Adonis Thomas led Springfield with 21 points, while six players reached double figure scoring totals. After a 6-for-12 start from beyond the arc, the Armor went 1-for-15 in the second half.
