A combined three-hitter helped lead the Snappers to their eighth straight victory on Wednesday night. Pitchers Brian Kirwan, Danny Vais, and Aaron Craig helped lead the Beloit to a 5-1 victory over the West Michigan Whitecaps.
Beloit scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a William Luque sacrifice fly to center. Brian Dinkelman, who led the game off with a triple, scored on Luque's sac fly.
Danny Berg added another run on for the Snappers in the bottom of the third. Berg hit his second double of the season to left-center, scoring Luque from first and giving Beloit a 2-0 lead after three.
After scoring another run in the bottom of the fifth the Snappers added two more in the eighth. Beloit's Chris Parmelee hit a two run homer to left, his fourth of the season, to give the Snappers a 5-0 lead. Parmelee hit his home run off the scoreboard resulting in Snappers' fan, Danny Ewoldt, winning $500 dollars courtesy of West Bend Mutual.
Starter, Brian Kirwan, pitched five innings of one hit, no run baseball to earn his first win of the season. Reliever, Aaron Craig, pitched an inning and a third of two hit, one run reliever to notch his third save of the season.
Upcoming schedule: The Snappers play game four of a four game series with the West Michigan Whitecaps on Thursday at 6:30 pm. Beloit's Cole Devries goes against West Michigan's Chris Cody. Snappers Overall Record (29-14).
