ECHL Goal Leader Joins River Rats

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that center Chris Minard has been recalled from the Alaska Aces of the ECHL.

Minard, 24, was tied for the league lead with 25 goals and was tied for fourth in the ECHL with 38 points in 29 games for Alaska during the 2005-06 campaign. He led the ECHL with 49 goals, including 15 on the power play skating alongside current New Jersey Devils center Scott Gomez with the Aces during the 2004-05 season. Minard made his AHL debut in one game with the Milwaukee Admirals last season and was signed by Albany as a free agent on August 16, 2005.

The Albany River Rats, owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., are in their 13th American Hockey League campaign and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
