Atlanta Asks for Abid

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled left wing RAMZI ABID (RAM-zee a-BIHD) from the Chicago Wolves.

The 25-year-old forward is tied for 15th in the American Hockey League with a team-leading 34 points in 32 games. He shares seventh in the league with a team-most nine power-play markers. ABID also paces the Wolves with 17 goals and 17 assists.

The Montreal native has collected 13 goals and 23 points in 49 National Hockey League games spanning parts of two seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes (2002-03) and Pittsburgh Penguins (2002-2004).
