
Canucks Assign King to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced forward Jason King has been assigned to the Moose.
King, 24, has been medically cleared to resume playing following a concussion suffered on March 5/05 vs. Rochester. Up until that point last season with the Moose, the Corner Brook, NF native had played in 59 games, scoring 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points and 22 penalty minutes. He was named the CCM AHL Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2004-05 season back on Oct. 18/05 after scoring seven goals and nine points in Manitoba's first four games of the season. He also participated in the 2005 AHL All-Star Classic in Manchester, NH for the Canadian All-Star team.
In his career, King has played in 155 games with the Moose where he's scored 58 goals and 58 assists for 116 points and 116 penalty minutes. In 55 career games with the Vancouver Canucks, King has scored 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points and eight penalty minutes.
King was originally drafted by the Canucks with their fifth choice, 212th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
