Friday, January 28 Eagles 4 vs. Topeka Tarantulas 0
Tyler Weiman stopped all 26 shots and tied the Central Hockey League record with his eighth shutout of the season. He is now tied with Odessa's Grant Sjerven (00-01), Austin's Matt Barnes (02-03) and Tulsa's Rod Branch (02-03) for the record. Greg Pankewicz (one goal, one assist) and Riley Nelson (one goal, one assist) each extended their point scoring streak to 16 games respectively. The shut out was the second consecutive shutout for the Eagles defense and they extended their shutout streak to 156:37.
Saturday, January 29 Eagles 5 vs. Topeka Tarantulas 2
The Eagles made history Saturday night by tying the Central Hockey League record with 12-consecutive wins. Only three other teams share the impressive record, Memphis (01-02), Bossier-Shreveport (98-99) and Huntsville (96-97). Paulo Colaiacovo got the nod in net and saved 18 of 20 shots and stayed undefeated (3-0-0) in his short professional career. Kevin Marsh and Riley Nelson each scored two goals for the Eagles and Nelson extended his point scoring streak to 17 games. That streak ties a franchise high that Nelson set last season. Right Wing Greg Pankewicz did not score a point in the game effectively ending his 16-game point scoring streak.

The Eagles take on the Blazers for the second of four meetings this season. Colorado won the first contest in the season opener, 3-2. In eight regular season match-ups the Eagles are 5-2-1. Colorado is 2-2-1 against Oklahoma City at the Ford Center and have been out scored 12-8 in the five games.

This is the last meeting of the regular season between the Northwest Division rivals. The Eagles and Thunder have battled all season for the top spot in not only their division, but in the CHL. The last two games have been probably the most exciting of the season for both teams. Colorado won the last game on January 21 at the Budweiser Events Center 3-2, and have not lost since the 5-4 overtime game against the Thunder on New Year's Day.

EAGLES TIE RECORD!- The Eagles tied the Central Hockey League record with 12 consecutive wins when they beat the Topeka Tarantulas 5-2 on Saturday night. Only three other teams have reached that mark, Memphis (01-02), Bossier-Shreveport (98-99) and Huntsville (96-97). The team has a chance to stand all alone in the record book when they take on the Oklahoma City Blazers at the Ford Center on Friday, February 4th.

ANOTHER RECORD TIED- Tyler Weiman tied the CHL record for most shutouts in a season when he shutout the Tarantulas on Friday night for his eighth of the season. He is now tied with Odessa's Grant Sjerven (00-01), Austin's Matt Barnes (02-03) and Tulsa's Rod Branch (02-03) for the record. With 21 games left in the season, the Eagles and Weiman hope to stand alone in that category as well.
STREAKS- 12-game winning streak â Ties CHL Record
Riley Nelson- Riding a 17-game scoring streak for 26 points (13G, 13A) â ties franchise record.
Ryan Tobler- Nine-game scoring streak for 12 points (6G, 6A).
STREAK ENDED- Greg Pankewicz did not register a point on Saturday night effectively ending his 16-game point scoring streak. In those sixteen games, Pankewicz averaged 2.25 points. He recorded 14 goals and 21 assists for an astounding 36 points. The streak is currently second all-time for the Eagles.
UNDEFEATED- Goaltender Paulo Colaiacovo won his third game in his third professional start in the Eagles record tying 5-2 victory Saturday night. The rookie from Etobicoke, Ontario has saved 58 of 61 shots for a .951 save percentage, and a 1.00 goals-against average.
FIRST MONTH- January 2005 was the best month in franchise history for the Eagles. The team went 12-0-1 and recorded 25 of a possible 26 points.
TOPS IN "AA" HOCKEY- The Eagles .808 winning percentage is currently at the top in all of the "AA" minor hockey leagues. No other team is in the .800 percentage, and only a handful are better than .700.
