January 31, 2005 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, Texas – The Central Hockey League and the defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks announced today that Director of Community Relations Nicole Thompson has been selected as the CHL Employee of the Month. Thompson joined the team in April and coordinated the 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Game in Laredo that was held earlier in January. Laredo is home on Wednesday night against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Face off is set for 7:00 p.m., a half hour earlier than usual. For Laredo Bucks season or single game tickets call (956)-718-BUCKS (2825) or log onto www.laredobucks.com and buy tickets online.

Thompson, age 30, is the first Bucks employee to be honored as CHL Employee of the Month.

"Nicole has done a terrific job for us since the day she was hired," Bucks President John Beckelhymer said. "Her performance during CHL All-Star week was a shining example of professionalism."

Thompson spearheads the Bucks community efforts, arranging player appearances, fund raisers and more.

"I am very surprised and honored," Thompson said. "We couldn't have pulled off the 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Game in Laredo without the talented Bucks and Laredo Entertainment Center staff. It was a group effort that made the City of Laredo shine."

The 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Week Festivities encompassed three days, January 10th-12th, and hosted representatives from all 17 CHL teams.

"Nicole has been an absolute pleasure to work with and her professionalism with the Laredo Bucks organization has been outstanding," CHL Director of Licensing Kimberly Valdivieso said. "She was a candidate at the 2004 CHL Job Fair, so it is nice to see a new employee doing so well and this honor is well-deserved."
