Oakley CHL Player & Goaltender of the Week Announced

Austin's John McNabb and Wichita's Jason Flick have been selected as the recipients of the Oakley Central Hockey League Player and Goaltender of the Week for Week 15 of the CHL season. McNabb registered three multiple-point games in four outings this week for the Ice Bats, while Flick allowed a total of three goals against and posted a shutout in three Thunder victories.
All-Star McNabb has been on a tear as of late for Austin, recording 12 goals and seven assists in his last 10 games. He scored twice January 26th in a 6- loss in Laredo, then added two more goals and an assist in Austin's 6-2 home victory over Fort Worth on January 28th. Saturday, he scored his 28th goal of the season and assisted on two other goals in a 7-3 win at Lubbock. McNabb's hot streak has moved him into sixth position in the CHL scoring race with 55 points. The Calgary native stood out earlier in the Month as well, scoring two goals and adding four assists in the CHL All-Star Game on January 12th in Laredo.
The Wichita Thunder improved to 4-1-1 against Southern Conference opponents this week with victories over Corpus Christi, San Angelo and Odessa. Netminder Jason Flick was in net for all three wins, improving his record to 13-4-1. He made 19 saves at home on January 27th to defeat Corpus Christi 6-2, then made 28 stops in a 3-0 win at San Angelo the following evening to earn his second shutout of the year. Saturday, he was again exceptional making. 22 saves in a 3-1 win at Odessa. Flick now sits third in the CHL in both goals against average (2.25) and save percentage (.922).
