NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The road finally paid its toll on the Texas Brahmas after going 0-2 on their Colorado road trip. The Central Hockey League reigning champions Colorado Eagles defeated the Brahmas 5-3.

Early in the first period, Brahmas forward Mark Carragher set up Scott Sheppard to put Texas up 1-0. Fortunately for the Brahmas, netminder David Cacciola was able to bounce back from last night's defeat to stop 16 shots in the first, including shutting down three powerplays.

As the second period opened, Brahmas enforcer Robin Big Snake dropped the gloves with the Eagle's Jason Beatty. Colorado hammered Texas' goalie Cacciola with 20 shots, in which only one from Riley Nelson was able to find the back of the net. The second ended in a 1-1 tie.

The third period saw lots of offensive action as the Eagles and Brahmas combined for six goals. Riley Nelson of the Eagles once again launced a goal past Cacciola on an Eagles powerplay. Shortly following the Eagle goal, Brahmas forward Carragher found Sheppard, his second of the night.

Seconds later, Colorado ended the Brahmas celebration as Ed McGrane put the Eagles back on top, 3-2. At the 8:56 mark, Brahmas defenseman Justin Kinnunen scored on the powerplay from Scott Sheppard and Blair Manning.

Colorado reminded their home crowd why they were the 2006-07 CHL Champions as both Greg Pankewicz and Seth Leonard scored powerplay goals late in the third. The Brahmas were unable to rally back as they fell to the Eagles 5-3.

Eagles goalie Ian Keserich stopped 26 of 29 shots and Brahmas goalie Cacciola stopped 46 of 51. The Brahmas will return home for their longest homestand of the season beginning Saturday, November 17 as they face their Northeast divisional foe the Youngstown SteelHounds for a 7:05 PM start.
