PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club of the Central Hockey League today announced that they have signed defenseman Jeff Winchester.

Winchester, 26, comes to the Arizona Sundogs after beginning the 2007-08 season with the ECHL's Stockton Thunder. The Dalhousie, New Brunswick native tallied six points (1g/5a) and 44 penalty minutes in 48 games while splitting the 2006-07 season with the ECHL's Dayton Bombers and Columbia Inferno. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman made his professional debut with the San Diego Gulls (ECHL) in 2005-06, tallying two assists with six penalty minutes in five games.

Before joining the Sundogs in game action, Winchester must serve a six-game suspension imposed by the ECHL and honored by the Central Hockey League after a cross-checking incident in an ECHL preseason game on Oct. 13 against the Fresno Falcons.
