LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League can break the league record for most consecutive wins to start a season tonight when they host Northern Conference leading Youngstown at 7:30pm. Tonights match-up pits the only two CHL teams without a loss in regulation against each other in what the league is calling a "SUPERBOWL" type game.

The Bucks will be looking to put themselves in the CHL history book alone tonight when they take on the Steelhounds. The Bucks tied the CHL record for most consecutive wins to start a season last night with 10, tying them with the 2002-03 Austin Ice Bats, and the 1996-97 New Mexico Scorpions of the then WPHL.
Laredo hung on for a 5-4 win over division foe Corpus Christi last night as the CHL's leading scorer Jeff Bes and Rane Carnegie each scored a goal and added two assists, with James Hiebert and Chris Korchinski each scoring a goal and handing out an assist. Dustin Traylen picked up his sixth win in the Bucks net, making him the only Laredo netminder to ever start a season 6-0.
Youngstown comes into tonight's game in the middle of a season-opening 14 game, 26 day road trip, where they are 8-0-1 thus far. Last night the Steelhounds won in Austin 7-2, with Chris Richards leading the way with a goal and four assists. Petr Pohl added two goals and one assist, and Kurtis Dulle scored a goal with two assists. Brad Roberts picked up the win between the pipes for the 'Hounds stopping 37 of 39 shots. It was Roberts first game action this season as Youngstown has been led in net by Andy Franck, who has played in eight of nine games, with a 7-0-1 record, a 2.08 goals against average and a .928 save percentage.
TheBucks will celebrate Veteran's night at the LEC tonight, and will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game.
