November 22, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Colorado Eagles outlasted the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight, scoring first in overtime to collect the 4-3 win.
Eagles forward Kyle Ostrow kicked off scoring with a goal midway through the first. The team's lead was backed up as forward Trent Daavettila scored at the 17:19 mark, but Wranglers forward Geoff Irwin made it a 2-1 game with a goal 26 seconds later.
Wranglers center Geoff Paukovich tied the game with his first goal of the season midway through the second period. The 2-2 score carried over into the third, and Las Vegas took their first lead of the game on a power play goal from center Chris Francis. Colorado was quick to respond, and less than three minutes later, Eagles right wing Luke Fulghum knotted the game 3-3.
Overtime was forced but brief as Eagles forward Ray Sawada beat Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton to secure the 4-3 win. The Wranglers gained a point in the standings with the loss, and Fullerton made a total of 37 saves.
The Wranglers and Eagles finish the three-game series tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. in Colorado. After two road games against the Idaho Steelheads, the Wranglers will return home on Friday, Dec. 6, to face the Bakersfield Condors. The Smithereens will perform a post-game concert that night as well.
