Colorado Eagles News Release

WINDSOR, CO - The Colorado Eagles along with the Central Hockey League announced the schedule for the 2006-07 season. Colorado will again play a 64-game schedule with 32 regular-season games and two pre-season games at the Budweiser Events Center.

The Eagles open their season on October 20, 2006 at the Budweiser Events Center against the Rocky Mountain Rage which will start a five-game home stand, their longest home stand of the season. The Eagles play nine of their first thirteen games at home and they will end the season playing 11 of their final 15 games on the road. Colorado plays their in-state rival, the Rocky Mountain Rage, the most, totaling 12 games throughout the season, six at home and six in Broomfield.

"We are pleased with our schedule," said Eagles President and General Manager Ralph Backstrom. "We think it's the best schedule we've had in our four-year history."

The Eagles' home schedule is highlighted by their five-game home stand to start the season. The Eagles will host the three newest teams in the CHL the most, playing the Rage six times at home, they will also host both the Arizona Sundogs and New Mexico Scorpions four times each at the Budweiser Events Center. Colorado will host the 2006 President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks once during the regular season on Wednesday, January 24, 2007. Colorado will play a majority of their home games on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, although the team has two Tuesday home contests. Of the Eagles 32 home games, 22 are on Fridays and Saturdays. All home games will start at 7:05 pm MT. Individual game tickets for all home games will go on sale on September 23, 2006 at 10 am MT (all box office and outlet information provided below). Group tickets are on sale now at the Eagles office, call (970) 686-SHOT to order group tickets.

The Governors' Cup Champion Eagles longest road trip is four games, starting on Saturday, November 25, 2006 and ending on Wednesday, December 6, 2006. The Eagles will not travel to every city in the league this season for the first time in three seasons. Colorado will not travel to Rio Grande Valley nor will they travel Corpus Christi. The Eagles have two "three-in-three" situations in which they play three games in three days and both such situations are on the road. The Eagles travel to Tulsa, Wichita, and Oklahoma City for a Friday-Saturday-Sunday "there-in-three" situation in January, and they will play the Youngstown SteelHounds for three games in-a-row in March.

"Coming off such a tough travel schedule last season," said Eagles Vice President and Head Coach Chris Stewart. "The schedule this year is far more accommodating than the schedules we have had in the past. I believe our fans will appreciate less multiple-game weeks throughout this season."

Colorado will not play two teams during the regular season, the Corpus Christi Rayz and the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. All of the Eagles games will be broadcast live on 107.9 The Bear with play-by-play broadcaster Tori Holt. All games will also be streaming online at www.1079thebear.com.
