August 7, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the CHL, today released the complete schedule for their upcoming 2006-07 Inaugural Season.

"We've been eager to release our schedule and we know that our season ticket holders, corporate partners, and fans throughout Northern Arizona have shared the same anticipation," said Sundogs President and Managing Director Hayne Ellis. "The release of our complete 2006-07 schedule is going to facilitate many aspects both internally and externally for our Club. With the schedule finished, we can now focus our full energies to other tasks that need to be completed before the start of our season."

The Sundogs will begin regular season play in the Central Hockey League on the road as construction at the Prescott Valley Convention and Events Center winds down. The Club will spend the first three weeks away from home, opening play Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 against the Southeast Division Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Both games are 5:35pm start times (Arizona time).

"As an expansion team, spending the first three weeks of our season on the road is going to be difficult, but it is something we have no control over with completion of our new home scheduled for early-November," said Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "However, beginning our season on the road will build excitement for when we finally drop the puck at the Prescott Valley Convention and Events Center."

The Arizona Sundogs will play an unbalanced schedule, meaning the team faces some teams more than others, regardless if they're division opponents or not. Some teams may not see other clubs at all during the regular season. During the 2006-07 season, the Sundogs will face 12 CHL clubs including Amarillo, Austin, Colorado, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Lubbock, New Mexico, Odessa, Oklahoma City, Rio Grande Valley, Rocky Mountain, and Youngstown. Clubs the Sundogs will not see during the regular season include Bossier-Shreveport, Memphis, Tulsa, and Wichita.

In addition to the Sundogs 64-game regular season, the team will play two exhibition contests against the Northwest Division Colorado Eagles on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado. Both games are 6:00pm start times (Arizona time).
