
Mudbugs Schedule Released for '06-'07

Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Central Hockey League and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs have released their 64-game schedule for the 2006-2007 season, the Mudbugs' tenth anniversary year. The new campaign will begin on Friday October 20th when the Mudbugs travel to the Ford Center to meet the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:35 p.m. The Mudbugs' home opener will then take place the following week with a rematch of the 2006 President's Cup Finals as the Laredo Bucks visit the CenturyTel Center on Thursday October 26th at 7:05 p.m.
The Mudbugs' regular season, which features 32 home and 32 away games, will last until March 25, 2007 when former Head Coach Jean Laforest and the Youngstown SteelHounds visit the CenturyTel Center. Bossier-Shreveport will face opponents from the newly formed Northeast Division 30 times (Memphis, Youngstown, and Tulsa). Nine of their first eleven games will be played on the road, but the Mudbugs will then return home to play seven of their next eight at the CenturyTel Center in November.
After a Saturday showdown against the Colorado Eagles on January 13th, the main highlight of the regular season will be the 2007 CHL All-Star Game at the CenturyTel Center on Wednesday January 17th at 7:05 p.m..
Other key dates of the Mudbugs' home schedule include: the first of two visits by the Wichita Thunder, who have faced the Mudbugs in the last three postseasons, on November 25th; the lone game between the Mudbugs and Colorado Eagles at the CenturyTel Center on Saturday January 13th and the first since last year's Northern Conference Finals; back-to-back home games against the division rival Memphis RiverKings on February 2nd and 3rd; a season-long five game homestand starting on November 24th versus Rio Grande Valley; the first-ever visit by the expansion Rocky Mountain Rage to the CenturyTel Center on February 23rd; and a second visit by the Laredo Bucks on March 13th.
The Mudbugs will travel to Ohio twice to meet the SteelHounds in five total games at the Chevrolet Centre and host Youngstown on five occasions. The Tulsa Oilers will meet the Mudbugs nine times with four at home and five at the Tulsa Convention Center. The Memphis RiverKings are the Mudbugs' most frequent opponent with a total of 11 head-to-head contests, six at home and five at the DeSoto Civic Center.
The months of November, December, February, and March all feature 12 total games, including a season-high eight home games in the month of March. The Mudbugs will have a total of eleven Saturday night home games throughout the season. All games at the CenturyTel Center will once again start at 7:05 p.m., with the exception of the season finale on Sunday March 25, 2007 with a 4:05 p.m. faceoff.
The Mudbugs are currently preparing for their 10th anniversary season, which will feature the 2007 Central Hockey League All-Star Game at the CenturyTel Center on January 17, 2007.
