Gwinnett Stripers News Release
St. Paul, MN - The Gwinnett Stripers (33-46) scored the last six runs of the game, but ultimately couldn't close a sizable gap in a 10-6 loss to the St. Paul Saints (47-31) on Saturday night at CHS Field. St. Paul has scored double digits in all four games of the series, going 4-0.
Decisive Plays: Gwinnett trailed 10-0 before ending the shutout in the eighth inning on back-to-back home runs from Joe Dunand (12) and Yolmer Sanchez (6). The three-run and solo clouts cut it to a 10-4 game. In the ninth, Daniel Robertson's RBI single and Sanchez's RBI fielder's choice brought the Stripers to within 10-6, the final score.
Key Contributors: Dunand (1-for-4, homer, 3 RBIs) and Sanchez (1-for-5, homer, 2 RBIs) combined to drive in five of Gwinnett's six runs. For St. Paul, Chris Williams (1-for-2, double, 3 RBIs) and Trevor Larnach (3-for-5, double, 2 RBIs) each had multi-RBI efforts, and both Anthony Prato and Elliot Soto hit solo homers off Jared Shuster (L, 2-1).
Noteworthy: Dunand's team-leading 12th homer was his ninth since the start of June. Sanchez has homered four times in his last six games since June 22. Gwinnett pitchers have a 12.12 ERA over four games in St. Paul.
