Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y., July 30, 2011) - On Saturday evening, the Long Island Ducks welcomed their five millionth fan through the gates of the Bethpage Ballpark. Reaching the magical five-million fan mark faster than any professional sports team with a stadium their size (capacity 6,002), the Ducks, members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, continue to enjoy tremendous support and success in this, their 12th season of play.

"We are extremely fortunate and grateful for the support we have received from the Long Island community since day one," said Ducks president/general manager Michael Pfaff. "Our charge is to continue our successful run by keeping this the safest, cleanest, and most affordable place for Long Islanders to come and enjoy an evening of baseball and entertainment."

At Long Island's Saturday, July 30 game against the Road Warriors, Commack's Andrea Pizzo became the lucky five-millionth fan, entering the gates minutes before first pitch. Pizzo won an authentic Ducks on field Jersey, a bat autographed by the 2011 First Half Champion Long Island Ducks, four tickets to all 2011 Ducks home playoff games, a $500 Visa gift card, courtesy of Bethpage Federal Credit Union and a measure of fame to boot, as several covering media outlets converged on the winner as she entered the gate.

The Long Island Ducks, in their 12th anniversary season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, or for information on becoming a season ticket holder, please visit www.liducks.com or call (631) 940-3825.
