Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev. - On a night where they trailed 7-3, the Reno Aces came back to win 8-7 in extras after Drew Ellis smacked a single to score Camden Duzenack and walk off the Tacoma Rainiers.

The scoring got started early, as Tacoma scored two in the top of the first to take the 2-0 lead. Reno answered quickly, with Seth Beer driving in a run on an RBI double.

The Aces took their first lead of the night in the bottom of the second, as Henry Ramos and Jamie Ritchie crossed home to make it 3-2.

The third inning saw more scoring from Tacoma, re-taking the lead with two more runs to make it 4-3 Rainiers. Tacoma would pile on three more in the sixth, making it 7-3.

The bottom of the sixth saw Reno score three runs off singles by Josh VanMeter, Ellis and Ramos, before Cintron drove a ball into left field. The ball got down for a single, scoring VanMeter and Ellis, before an error in the outfield advanced Cintron and scored Ramos to make it 7-6 Tacoma.

In the seventh inning, Christian Walker crushed a solo shot to right field to tie things up at seven, making it his second straight game with a home run.

Neither team would score until Ellis stepped into the box in the bottom of the 10th inning. Ellis smacked a ball to right, scoring Duzenack from second to earn the win.

The walk off continues a hot streak for Ellis, who finished the night 2-for-5 with an RBI. Last night, Ellis went 5-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs.

Reno and Tacoma will see each other again tomorrow in the third game of the six-game series, with Justin Donatella getting the ball for Reno. Donatella enters with an 8.25 ERA and will take on Héctor Santiago. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on KPLY 630AM locally, as well as RenoAces.com with Zack Bayrouty on the call.
