Skeeters Dealt First Home Loss 4-1 by Albuquerque

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Skeeters had their six-game winning streak snapped Friday night with a 4-1 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes.

The winning streak was the longest for the Skeeters this season and entered the game tied second for the longest in Minor League Baseball.

Albuquerque jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the second inning off Skeeters starter Shawn Dubin. Greg Bird provided an RBI double in the first inning and Wynton Bernard a two-run triple in the second inning.

Jake Meyers tied for the Skeeters team lead with a solo home run to right-center at Constellation Field in the bottom of the second. Meyers is tied for sixth in Triple A West with the five home runs.

The Isotopes added their final run of the night on an RBI single from Bernard in the sixth inning. Dubin was handed the loss and Albuquerque starter Ryan Rolison collected his first Triple A win of the year, allowing a run on five hits through five innings.

Skeeters Right-hander Peter Solomon will be opposed by Isotopes right-hander Jose Mujica in the third game of the six-game series at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday at Constellation Field.
