Peter Solomon Strikes out Nine in Skeeters 2-0 Win

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - Peter Solomon struck out nine batters to help lead the Sugar Land Skeeters to a 2-0 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Saturday night at Constellation Field.

Solomon's nine strikeouts matched the Skeeters season-high and were two away from his career high. He allowed just two hits through six scoreless innings to collect his second straight winning decision. He also reached the six-inning mark for the first time since 2018.

Michael Papierski delivered his second RBI triple of the homestand in the eighth inning. The Skeeters scored their first run of the night in the third inning when Lorenzo Quintana scored on a wild pitch.

Right-hander Ronel Blanco finished out the final 1 1/3 innings to pick up his first save of the season. The combined shutout effort was the first shutout by the Skeeters this season.

The Skeeters will go to right-hander Brett Conine for a 6:05 p.m. Sunday start, with right-hander Dereck Rodriguez getting the start for the Isotopes.
