DAYTON, OHIO - Dayton Dragons starting pitcher Rhett Lowder has been named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 22-28.
Lowder made one start during the week when he earned his first career victory on Friday, April 26 at Lansing. In that victory, Lowder went six innings, allowing one unearned run on just three hits with one walk and nine strikeouts. Lowder became the first Dragons pitcher to go six innings this season and also established the team season high for strikeouts in a game.
Lowder was the Reds first round draft pick in 2023 out of Wake Forest. For the year, he is 1-0 with a 1.86 earned run average (third best in the league) in four starts. He also ranks third in opponent batting average (.183) and is fourth in WHIP (0.98).
