Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the West Michigan Whitecaps (affiliates of the Detroit Tigers) in the first game of a six-game series at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District.

Last Game: Sunday : Lansing 10, Dayton 9 (10 innings). Lansing's Jonny Butler blasted a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10 th inning to give the Lugnuts a walk-off win. The Dragons battled back from a mid-game 6-1 deficit and a ninth inning 8-5 deficit to get the game to extra innings and led 9-8 going to the bottom of the 10 th . Jay Allen II tied a club record with five hits and Cam Collier hit a home run while driving in three.

Last Series (April 23-28 at Lansing) : Dayton went 3-3 in the series, winning the first, fourth, and fifth games.

On Friday night in a 14-10 win at Lansing, the Dragons collected 20 hits for the first time since they had 24 on July 4, 2012. The Dragons had 15 hits in their loss at Lansing on Sunday (most recent game).

Cam Collier leads the MWL in home runs (7), RBI (25), and extra base hits (12). He is fourth in slugging pct (.617).

Hector Rodriguez leads the Midwest League in base hits with 26 and ranks 10 th in batting average at .329. Rodriguez hit .409 (9 for 22) with one home run and five runs batted in during the series at Lansing. Rodriguez has not struck out since April 17, going nine games without a strikeout.

Jay Allen II's .378 batting average would lead the MWL, but he is 12 plate appearances short of the minimum to qualify. He has missed 11 games.

Sal Stewart over his last 17 games is batting .333 (20 for 60) with two home runs, four doubles, one triple, 11 RBI, and 13 walks.

Pitcher Ryan Cardona ranked first in the Midwest League in opponent's batting average at .128 and third in WHIP at 0.86 (14 IP, 6 H, 6 BB) entering Thursday's games but dropped off the league leaderboard Friday when his total innings (14) fell below the minimum number to qualify.
