
Dolan's Two Assists Push Stingrays Past Nailers

Wheeling, WV -A game after scoring his first professional goal, forward Sean Dolan chipped in two assists as the South Carolina Stingrays (1-2) defeated the Wheeling Nailers (2-1) 4-2 in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at WesBanco Arena Friday night. The Nailers lead the best-of-five series 2-1.
Nailers forward Paul Crowder opened the scoring on the power play at 13:38 of the first period slipping a shot under the blocker of Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford from the bottom of the left-wing circle. Defenseman Jason DeSantis and forward Doug Rogers earned assists.
The Stingrays responded with two tallies in the middle period to take a 2-1 lead into the second intermission. Forward Rob Ricci tied the contest at 6:43 rifling a shot over the glove of Nailers keeper Peter Delmas from between the faceoff circles. Forwards Ryan Del Monte and Dolan registered assists. Defenseman Johann Kroll put the Stingrays ahead at 16:12 from forwards Trent Campbell and Tommy Goebel.
Stingrays forward Brock McBride made it 3-1 at 1:55 of the final frame from defenseman Derek Keller and forward David de Kastrozza. The Nailers pulled it back within one at 10:44 with a shorthanded marker from forward Tyler Murovich. Forward Joey Haddad received the lone assist. The Stingrays reclaimed a two-goal lead moments later when Del Monte forced a shot inside the left post of Delmas at 17:56 from Dolan.
Ford picked up the victory stopping 26 of 28 Nailers shots. Delmas suffered the loss kicking away 17 of 21 Stingrays chances. The Nailers finished 1-for-6 on the power play while the Stingrays went 0-for-4.
