Chicago Dogs News Release

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Dogs have inked a contract with right-handed pitcher Jalen Miller.

Miller brings his talents to the Dogs after a busy few years pitching in the Frontier League, Pacific Association, Atlantic League and in the Baltimore Orioles system for their Class A affiliate, the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Born in Vicenza, Italy, the right-hander pitched at Mineral Area College in Missouri before signing with the Florence Freedom in 2017. In 2018 with the Vallejo Admirals, he posted his best numbers, striking out 96 batters in 79.1 innings and a career-low ERA.

After a stint in early April 2019 with the Shorebirds, he pitched for the York Revolution of the Atlantic League and briefly for the River City Rascals before being signed by the Dogs.

As a corresponding move, closer Kyle Halbohn has been moved to the 7-day disabled list and relief pitcher Josh Goossen-Brown has been placed on the 30-day inactive list.

Miller joins the Dogs in time for Game Three of a weekend series against the St. Paul Saints. LHP Jake Dahlberg will start the series finale tomorrow with first pitch set for 3:05 PM as the Dogs vie for a sweep.
