Dock Spiders Fall Short against Booyah
July 13, 2019 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders News Release
FOND DU LAC, WI - The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (5-6) and the Green Bay Booyah (8-3) had a pitchers duel all night. Not much offense at all for either team.
It was "Star Wars Night" and Houston Glad (Texas Wesleyan) got the ball and was very good again. Only allowing two runs that came off a controversial play down the first base line.
The Booyah would not give up the lead after that, as the Dock Spiders would cut into the deficit in the fifth. An RBI single from Sam Novitske (Oregon) to make it 2-1.
A run in the seventh off Connor Dryer (Central Missouri) made it 3-1 and the hill was even tougher to climb. The offense struggled to get any momentum all night.
The Booyah bullpen contained any threats the Dock Spiders threw at them. A bases loaded situation in the eighth inning only resulted in a run crossing for the Dock Spiders. An Otto Grimm (Minnesota) RBI ground out would make it back to a one run game.
They couldn't produce any more runs in the inning. It was a tough day offensively, as they have to face the red hot Booyah tomorrow afternoon.
It's the final game until the All-Star Break. It's also Nick Fortes bobblehead day.
Come out and be one of the first 500 fans of the game and get a bobblehead. First pitch slated for 1:05 PM CST.
