Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
Battle Creek, MI--The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays are proud to present a post-game Christian concert for fans that come to the May 21st game at C.O. Brown Stadium. Game time is 3:35 p.m. against the Dayton Dragons.
Disciples Peak -- a Christian punk band from Battle Creek -- was founded by lead singer Brandon Shephard and drummer Kevin Smith four years ago. The band also features Daniel Chapin on the bass.
Disciples Peak has played with many other bands including Kids in the Way, Decyfer Down, Staple and Second Hand.
The band's website, www.disciplespeak.com, features bios of each member of the band as well as a bit of history about the threesome. There are also lyrics for some of their songs on this site.
"We are always looking for great opportunities to showcase what the ballpark can do in addition to baseball games." Devil Rays General Manager Martie Cordaro said. "We're excited for these talented young men to perform for fans who may not regularly come to C.O. Brown Stadium."
May 21st is Faith Day at the ballpark. Churches and youth groups are encouraged to join the Devil Rays on this day devoted to faith and spirituality. Local spiritual leader Kelly Hadlich will deliver a message to the concert goers and church groups who attend the game.
Tickets to see the Rays vs. Dragons and the post game concert are still available. Special group rates are available for businesses, organizations and church groups. Call 269-660-2287 or visit the team's Web site at southwestmichigandevilrays.com.
