
Dickenson Called Up to AHL Manitoba

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Lou Dickenson has been called up to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. In 41 games this season with the Gladiators, Dickenson racked up 44 points off 19 goals and 25 assists.
The Orleans, ON native will make his second career trip to the American league after playing 17 games for the San Antonia Rampage during the 2004-05 season. In his first stint in the AHL, Dickenson tallied an assist as well as 12 penalty minutes.
After spending the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons playing in Europe, Dickenson returned to North American this season and joined the Gladiators. Dickenson's 19 goals is currently tops on the team.
The 6-foot-1 and 194-pound Dickenson tallied points in 30 of the 41 games in which he played. Included in that number were two streaks of nine straight games that saw him score at least one point. On of those streaks is still active.
Dickenson also tallied a career-high three assists, and tied a career high with three points on November 16 in a 4-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays. In addition, Dickenson tallied a goal and an assist in Tuesday night's 8-6 loss to the Augusta Lynx.
Dickenson, who is in the midst of the best season in his North American Hockey Career should be available for the Moose for their 7:30 tilt with the Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday.
The Gladiators continue their fifth anniversary season on Friday, February 1st as they travel to South Carolina to take on the Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the play-by-play action in Friday's game via AccessRadio on AccessNorthGa.com.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
