Wranglers Five-Goal Outburst in Third Sinks RoadRunners 7-4

Phoenix, AZ - The Las Vegas Wranglers (28-8-7, 63 points) defeated the Phoenix RoadRunners (15-22-6, 36 points) 7-4 at the U.S. Airways Center on Wednesday night. The Wranglers tied a team record with five goals in the third period, including the game-winning goal off the stick of center Tyler Mosienko at 8:41 of the third period. Eleven Wranglers registered a point in the teams' fourth straight victory. Las Vegas also had five players who registered multi-point nights, led by center Chris Ferarro (1goal -3 assists) and defenseman Jason Krischuk (career high 3 assists). Left wing Shawn Limpright picked up an assist in the second period for his 119th career point with Las Vegas, tying Dan Tudin for the team's all-time lead. Goalie Daniel Manzato stopped 33 of 37 for his 15th win of the season. Las Vegas will host Fresno on Friday night at 7:05 pm.

Las Vegas opened the scoring just 1:17 into the game as Adam Cracknell scored his team-leading 21st goal of the season. The Wranglers worked the puck to the left wing for Cracknell, who unloaded a shot that went off the glove of Phoenix goalie Dave McKee. The RoadRunners countered with a pair of goals before the end of the period. Center Gino Guyer scored off a rebound to tie the game 1-1 at 5:32. The RoadRunners gained the lead with a power-play goal by Scott Kelman with 1:04 remaining in the opening period. Kelman's sixth of the season pushed Phoenix in front 2-1.

Las Vegas tied the game in the second period as Chris Ferraro scored his tenth goal of the season at 2:24. The play was set up by Shawn Limpright and Jason Krischuk. Limpright picked up his 119th point as a Wrangler, tying Dan Tudin for the all-time team lead. The two headed into the final period tied 2-2.

In the third period, Las Vegas scored two goals in the first 2:03 of the third period to open up a two-goal lead. Peter Ferraro scored his 17th goal of the season just 1:10 into the third period for the 3-2 lead. Defenseman Mike Madill scored his third goal of the season just 53-seconds later. The power-play tally pushed the Las Vegas lead to 4-2. RoadRunners forward Mitch Carefoot scored to cut the lead to 4-3 at 6:52 of the third. The Wranglers charged back to regain their two-goal lead at 8:41. Center Tyler Mosienko snapped in a rebound for his 14th of the season and 5-3 Las Vegas lead. Las Vegas doubled up Phoenix just 47-seconds later, Mosienko set up Aki Seitsonen's sixth goal of the season at 9:28. Seitsonen's shorthanded tally pushed the Wranglers lead to 6-3. The RoadRunners trimmed the Wranglers lead to 6-4 as Daniel Sisca scored his 11th goal of the season at 11:09. The Wranglers finished off the scoring as Ryan Donally netted his ninth goal of the season at 16:30 of the third for the 7-4 final. The five goals in one period tied a Las Vegas record.

The Wranglers start a home at home series with Fresno Friday night at the Orleans Arena at 7:05 pm. The first 2,500 fans will receive a "Duke" Piggy Bank, compliments of Cox Communications. Las Vegas will play in Fresno on Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
