Wednesday, Devils 4 @ FALCONS 2
Chris Minard scored twice and Justin Papineau had a goal and a pair of assists as the Devils took a 4-2 victory over the Falcons in Springfield on Wednesday night. Lowell's power play came alive with three tallies on five opportunities, while Frank Doyle stopped 25 Falcons shots for the win.
Friday, MONARCHS 2 vs. Devils 0
Manchester scored once in the first period and once in the third to pace a 2-0 victory over the Devils at the Verizon Wireless Arena Friday night. Lowell put 34 shots on goal in the game, including 15 in the third period, but Jason LaBarbera denied them for his third shutout of the season.
Saturday, Devils 6 @ WOLF PACK 4
Rod Pelley scored three goals, including two in the third period, to lead the Devils to a 6-4 win at Hartford Saturday night. Grant Marshall had three assists and Justin Papineau had a goal and an assist as well for the Devils. Lowell matched a season-high with six goals, while Frank Doyle made 26 saves for his second straight victory.
In the standings
At 13-11-2-1 on the season, the Devils have 29 points in the standings, good for fourth place in the Atlantic Division. The Portland Pirates and Providence Bruins are tied for first place in the division with 31 points, just two ahead of the Devils. The Manchester Monarchs sit in third place with 30 points.
Coming Up
The Devils are on the road this Friday at Providence for a 7:05 p.m. start and on Saturday at Bridgeport for a 7:00 p.m. contest. Lowell returns to home ice on Sunday, December 17th at 4:05 p.m. against the Providence Bruins. One lucky fan that night will win a trip for two to see the New Jersey Devils host the Boston Bruins April 1st, including an overnight stay in New Jersey and round-trip limo service, courtesy of Corporate Coach & Limousine. Only fans participating in that night's Teddy Bear Toss, during the first intermission of that game, will be eligible to win. The New Jersey Devils recalled LW Dan LaCouture from Lowell on Saturday.
Chris Minard and Justin Papineau are the only two Devils players with more than one multiple goal game this season.
Lowell has scored 18 goals in their last four victories, scoring six goals twice. They scored three goals in their last five losses, with three shutouts.
The Devils are 11-4-1-0 when scoring a power play goal.
Of the 24 goals Jordan Parise has allowed in net for the Devils this season, 11 have been power play goals (45.8%).
Rod Pelley's hat trick on Saturday was the first in team history, for or against.
Justin Papineau was selected the first star on Saturday night, the fifth time (in 23 games played) he has been the first star of a game this season. He also has two third star selections.
