Devils Can't Solve Crunch

SYRACUSE, NY - In his return to the AHL, Albany Devils goaltender Jeff Frazee made 33 saves on 36 attempts in a 3-0 setback against the Syracuse Crunch Saturday at the War Memorial at OnCenter. Frazee had spent the previous two weeks with the New Jersey Devils before being returned to Albany Tuesday.

Frazee was tested early, making 11 stops in the first period. He followed with nine in the second and 10 in the third. Syracuse's Riku Helenius registered his 16th win of the year. He made 27 saves on 28 shots.

The Crunch received first period goals from Vladislav Namestnikov at 13:39 and from Dan Sexton at 14:25. In the second, J.T. Brown moved the score to 3-0 at 14:00.

Matt Anderson spoiled Helenius' shutout bid, scoring with 53.2 second remaining in regulation. Joe Whitney and Eric Gelinas were credited with the assists on the power-play goal.
