Collins Recalled By Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced that forward Sean Collins was recalled from the club following its victory on Friday night by its NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Collins, 24, made his NHL debut earlier this season with Columbus and is scoreless in two contests with the Blue Jackets. He had a goal and an assist in Springfield's 2-1 win over Worcester on Friday and has 22 points (8g-14a) in 56 games with the Falcons in 2012-2013.

A rookie from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Collins has 27 points (9g-18a) in 64-career AHL contests. He was taken by Columbus in the seventh round (187th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

After heading to Bridgeport tonight, Springfield returns home on Thursday for its final meeting with the Sound Tigers this season. The Falcons host Connecticut next Saturday, presented by Z Airport Parking. Both home games next week commence at 7 p.m.
