Harrisburg Senators News Release

On Friday night in Erie, the Senators rallied from a 4-0 deficit but fell in 10 innings 6-5 to the Erie SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park. One night after the Senators ten-game winning streak was snapped, the Sens dropped a second consecutive game.

Trailing 4-0 into the top of the seventh, Tyler Moore doubled and then Derek Norris followed with a two-run home run cutting the lead in half. In the eighth inning, Josh Johnson walked and then with two outs, Tyler Moore hit a two-run home run to tie the game. Derek Norris followed with his second home run of the night to give the Senators a 5-4 lead. It was the second time this season the Sens have gone back-to-back and the sixth time this year they've had a player hit two home runs in a game. Archie Gilbert also had two hits in the game for the Senators.

Erik Davis started for the Senators and allowed three runs in the second inning to Erie and one more in the sixth, but pitched fairly well. He struck out seven but walked five in the game. Davis pitched into the seventh inning when Carlos Martinez took over. Martinez pitched out of a jam in the seventh, but allowed back-to-back doubles in the eighth which tied the ballgame for Erie. The second double came on an 0-2 count.

Erie won the game in the tenth inning when Michael Bertram homered leading off the inning.

Harrisburg falls to 30-22 on the season while Erie improves to 26-27 with the win.

The two teams play game two of the three game series on Saturday night in Erie. Game time Saturday night is 7:05 p.m. and the game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone.
