Denver NWSL Launches 'Name The Club' Fan Vote
February 19, 2025 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
Denver News Release
Denver NWSL is calling on fans to make history by helping to name Colorado's first major professional women's soccer club. The club today announced the launch of its Name The Club campaign, inviting supporters to vote on the official name of the team that will begin play in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in 2026.
Through an interactive fan vote at DenverNWSL.com/Name, supporters can choose from a shortlist of six names (Denver Peak FC, Colorado 14ers FC, Colorado Summit FC, Denver Elevate FC, Denver FC, Denver Gold FC) with an option to submit a write-in name. The shortlist was created after receiving feedback from fans at the Denver NWSL launch event on Thursday, Jan. 30, from social media, and from consultation with Denver NWSL fans. The voting process will ensure the club's identity reflects the passion and culture of Colorado. The Name The Club vote opens on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and runs through Wednesday, Feb. 26.
"From day one, we've said that this club belongs to Colorado, and we're putting that into action by letting our fans help shape its identity, ¬Â said Rob Cohen, controlling owner of Denver NWSL. "We're building something special here-an elite women's soccer club that represents the strength, spirit, and diversity of this community. This is the chance for fans to make their mark on history."
On Monday, Feb. 3, Denver NWSL announced that the club had received 5,280 season ticket deposits, breaking an NWSL record as the fastest expansion franchise to eclipse 5,000 deposits. The record-breaking number came on the heels of Denver being awarded NWSL's 16th team on Thursday, Jan. 30. Denver NWSL's robust ownership group includes local and national investors including Rob Cohen, Project Level, a subsidiary of Ariel Investments led by Chairwoman Mellody Hobson and former Washington Commanders President Jason Wright, FirstTracks Sports Ventures LLC (FTSV), led by siblings Jon-Erik Borgen and Kaia Borgen Moritz, Neelima Joshi and Dhiren Jhaveri and Molly Coors.
Fans who wish to buy season tickets and establish their priority for the Denver NWSL club can do so by placing a deposit at DenverNWSL.com. Pricing and seat inventory are still being determined and the timeline for converting deposits into actual seat purchases is yet to be finalized. Fans wishing to learn more can view the club's Ticket Deposit Policy for full details.
The new Denver NWSL franchise is finalizing plans for a purpose-built stadium for professional women's soccer and a dedicated, purpose-built performance facility for female athletes. More information will be available as these plans are finalized. The team's final name, crest, colors, and brand identity will be announced at a later date.
