LAKEWOOD, N.J. - An error in each of the first four innings doomed the BlueClaws as they fell behind 7-2 to West Virginia in the Power's 9-5 victory Tuesday night.

The BlueClaws tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the 1st inning, but West Virginia scored three times in the 3rd inning and twice more in the 4th to take control of the game 7-2. Of the first seven runs for the Power, four were unearned thanks to four errors in the field.

Chris Duffy went 2-for-3 to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. He wasted no time extending it with a first-inning home run that cascaded off the upper tier billboard beyond the concourse in right field. Over his streak he is hitting 21-for-43 (.488) to raise his season batting average to .396.

With the BlueClaws trailing 9-2 with two outs in the 8th inning, Josh Ludy recorded his first professional hit. The bases were loaded when Ludy stepped up, but by the time his liner got over the head of the centerfielder Gregory Polanco and Ludy motored into second base, the bases were empty for a three-run double.

The BlueClaws and Power will play the third game of a four-game series of their season-long nine-game homestand. Lakewood will send Ramon Oviedo (1-5, 5.37) to the mound and he will start against West Virginia's Robby Rowland (3-1, 2.81).

First pitch for Wednesday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
