Suns Strike Late to Nail Down 9-3 Win over Shorebirds

Salisbury, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (46-29) scored five runs over the final two innings to secure a 9-3 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds (28-46) at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, MD on Tuesday night.

Second baseman Cutter Dykstra drove in three runs, going 2-for-5 with a run scored. Left fielder Billy Burns was 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI, while shortstop Bryce Ortega doubled and drove in a run.

Suns starting pitcher Kylin Turnbull (3-4) earned the win lasting 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits, two walks and four strike outs. Wilson Eusebio and Aaron Barrett each pitched 1.2 scoreless innings behind Turnbull, with Barrett nailing down his tenth save of the season.

Shorebirds starter Matt Taylor (2-5) took the loss going 4.2 innings allowing four runs on seven hits, four walks and four strike outs. First baseman Connor Narron knocked in two of the Shorebirds three runs.

The Suns and Shorebirds will play game three of the series on Wednesday morning at 10:35 a.m. when RHP Taylor Hill (7-4, 3.98) takes the mound against Shorebirds' right-hander Zach Davies (2-2, 4.03).
