DeBlois Returns to Rays & Game Preview: South Carolina at Wichita, 8:05 p.m.

THE MATCHUP

The South Carolina Stingrays visit the Wichita Thunder for the first time in club history this evening. South Carolina enters tonight's contest having collected points in five straight games, posting a 4-0-1-0 mark in that span. Forward David Pacan has collected points in nine of his last 10 games. The Thunder have struggled this season and enter tonight with only 10 victories. They are 1-6-3-0 in their last 10 games, and have lost four straight.

King Street Grille-Northwoods has become the Watch Party Destination for Stingrays road games during the 2015-2016 season, including games this week. DEBLOIS RETURNS

The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Derek DeBlois has been returned to the club from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL). DeBlois, 24, has had three stints with the Monsters this season, appearing in 30 games and registering five points (three goals, two assists). With the Stingrays, DeBlois has skated in 13 games this season, notching eight points (four goals, four assists). DeBlois will join the team in Wichita and is eligible to play this weekend. DeBlois joins Caleb Herbert, reassigned from Hershey today, as key additions to the Stingrays roster heading into tonight's game.

LAST TIME OUT

In South Carolina's last contest, the Stingrays fell to the Tulsa Oilers in overtime, 2-1, Wednesday night at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Forward Brett Cameron had the lone goal for South Carolina and Vitek Vanecek made 22 saves. The loss snapped a four game win streak for the Stingrays, which was tied for the longest stretch of victories this season.

CONSISTENT CAMERON

Rookie forward Brett Cameron said his New Years Resolution was consistency. Cameron has collected points in 14 of his last 18 games, registering 22 points (six goals, 16 assists) in that stretch, and currently has a four-game point streak for South Carolina.

AND THE THUNDER ROLLS...

The Thunder are led by forwards Kale Kerbashian, Ian Lowe and Kenton Miller who each have over 22 points apiece. Kerbashian leads with seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points, Lowe has 10 goals and 14 assists for 24 points and Miller has 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points

CHARGING AHEAD

With recent success, the Stingrays are now neck-and-neck with the Atlanta Gladiators for second place in the ECHL's South Division. The Gladiators and Stingrays both enter this weekend with 56 points through 47 games.

NO RUIKKA REUNION

Former Wichita defender Ryan Ruikka is a member of the Stingrays. However, Ruikka did not make the trip to Kansas as he is nursing an upper body injury after blocking a shot last month up high.
